In 2005, my wife and I and some friends took a trip to Scotland to celebrate our 25th anniversary. For me the countryside and the people are memories I will never forget. For a whisky lover such as myself, I had to tour a few distilleries to see, smell and taste the very essence of Whisky!
Here is a little travelogue highlighting the distilleries. It features glimpses of: The Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre, Laphroaig, Ardbeg, Bowmore, Lagavulin,
Bunnahabhain, Oban, Macallan, Glenfarclas, Aberlour, Ben Nevis, Islay, Jura and the River Spey.

Each year in St. Louis on the anniversary of the birthday of the great Scottish poet, Robert Burns, Schlafly Tap Room throws a rousing party in his honor. Along with Scottish fare such as Haggis, Scotch Eggs, Scotch Ale, and more the crowd is treated to a tribute to Burns by co-founder of St. Louis Brewing, Tom Schlafly and the piping and drumming of the St. Louis Caledonian Pipe Band.
