Scotch in a Can, Part 3
I’ve written a few times about Scotch in a Can (Scotch in a Can and Scotch in a Can, Part 2) and here is a new press release from Scottish Spirits Imports, Inc.
Scottish Spirits in a Can Introduces a Re-sealable Lid
Convenience, Portability and now, “Re-sealability”
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Jan. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Scottish Spirits Imports, Inc. is pleased to announce the introduction of a re-sealable latex cap for their unique and innovative Scottish Spirits in a Can. The latex lid, (patent pending) produced especially for Scottish Spirits, will allow the can to be resealed and the product to be kept fresh and tasting great.
Scottish Spirits has garnered a tremendous amount of media and consumer interest with Scottish Spirits in a Can. "The key word here is convenience," stated Monique Force, Vice President of Operations/Communications, "the portability of the product for outdoor uses such as sporting events, tailgating parties, boating, and pool side make this a perfect choice."
But convenience isn't the only factor, Scottish Spirits Single Grain Scotch Whisky is made from a unique selection of grains with a rich honey/vanilla, apples and pears taste with a hint of peat and smoke. Scottish Spirits is distilled and matured in Scotland for a minimum of three years in oak casks.
The product containing 40% alcohol by volume and 80% proof, is packaged in a 100% recyclable aluminum can with a special liner to keep the product's taste integrity intact, isn't meant to be a one serving beverage. Each recyclable can has eight 'shots' (355ml) and can be shared by several people anywhere, without having to carry a heavy bottle or worry about glass breakage. The re-sealable latex cap allows someone to enjoy a drink now and save the rest for later!
Scottish Spirits in a Can may be enjoyed on the rocks, straight-up or with a mixer. The suggested retail price is $5.00 for a can (12 fl. oz. / 355 ml).Prices may vary by location.
Scottish Spirits is finalizing its distribution network and hopes to have its product on the shelves by February 2012.

Well, “Scottish Spirits has garnered a tremendous amount of media,” and not a lot of it favorable. Scotch in a can, a 3-yr. old single grain whisky, is coming to the US and perhaps, as a response to negative publicity about putting 40% alcohol in what is usually a single serving container, a 12 oz. can, Scottish Spirits Imports is including a re-sealable top so that one might reasonably think of the container as more than eight shots of whisky that one would drink in one sitting. That’s all to the good I guess. And I guess I can’t knock it until I try it so let’s see if a sample heads my way.
Could be interesting!
