Dalmore Me, Baby
Dalmore Me, Baby
Only 250 of a 450 bottle single cask expression bottling are still available, exclusively at The Dalmore Distillery. It is bottled at 46% and is from cask 446, in a 70cl. bottle. This is an offer that is almost certainly only for those within driving distance of Dalmore, Alness, Rosshire, IV17 0UT, Scotland. Of course if you have the wherewithal to nip over to Scotland from the US or elsewhere, take the trip. This little gem will set you back £150 on top of your air fare, but rare is rare. So is it worth it? Well the distillery provides these tasting notes to help you decide: Nose: Generous and rewarding on the nose. Aromas of warm citrus fruits, toffee apple, luscious mango and creamy caramel are followed closely with notes of bitter dark chocolate, apricots and figs. Taste: As the delightful scents give way, the palate is rewarded with a wonderful sensory combination of thick chunky marmalade, roasted Java coffee, crushed pecan nuts and licorice. Fleshy pear, honey, vanilla and the tang of caramelized crème brulee brings this cornucopia of delights to a perfect conclusion.
Sounds good, but probably not your typical Dalmore taste profile since there is no sherry aging from this single cask Bourbon barrel aged bottling.
Richard Paterson, aka “The Nose,” Dalmore Master Distiller says, “We are very excited to be offering this Distillery Exclusive in honour of the Dalmore’s band of artisans. The passion of our craftsmen and women shines through in every intricate detail of our single malts and the Exclusive is no exception. However, with only 250 bottles left, any customers who are keen to get their hands on this limited edition release should start booking their travel up to Dalmore now, as we won’t be selling any bottles outside of the Distillery grounds!” This bottling was chosen by the Dalmore artisans themselves for special release.
Spend an afternoon on the banks of the Cromarty Firth, in Alness taking in the grand view of the water and the grand taste of The Dalmore.
Cheers!
