New Whisky Price Comparison Website
New Whisky Price Comparison Website
Connosr is a whisky website that has been around for about three years and started out as a Social Network for whisky drinkers. Pierre Thiebaut started Connosr as a place on the web where whisky drinkers could post their tasting notes and communicate with one another.

It has grown greatly since its inception and now includes an on-line magazine, Distilled, videos and now its newest creation, the Whisky Marketplace. It is in its beta testing version right now and at this point one can search and compare pricing only from UK’s top whisky retailers but they plan to expand to include other countries very soon.
It is a neat little piece of programming that allows one to search by whisky name, distillery, price, age, ABV, vintage or date bottled. One can also search by style of whisky (single malt, blended, etc.) and country of origin. They also have controls to search closed distilleries or miniatures and samples. Very nicely done!
You can also select whether prices are displayed in US dollars, British pounds, euros and more.
One of the coolest ways to search is through a portal that sorts by awards. This is broken down into Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible Awards, Malt (Whisky) Advocate Awards and World Whiskies Awards.

The Whisky Marketplace also has a Special Offers and Deals page to see what’s on sale where and for how much.
An unusual feature of this site is a Podcasts section, which right now features only Episode 001, but it is a nice video section where Pierre Thiebaut interviews John Glaser about Compass Box Great Street Artist’s Blend as well as the Last Vatted Malt Whisky and the Last Vatted Grain Whisky. He also interviews Alasdair Day who has taken blending recipes that his grandfather concocted at about the turn of the century and reproduced them as Tweeddale Blends, which are getting some good reviews.

The podcast also features tasting notes on Balbair 2001, Arizona Whisky (where the barley is dried over Mesquite smoke!,) Tweeddale Blend Batch #2 and Compass Box Great King Street. Excellent production values and Pierre’s ease in front of the camera make this a pleasant way to pass a few moments investigating some of the latest whiskies.
This may be your new favorite way to shop for whisky. Surf on over and give it a look. Cheers!
